Beyond Black Mesa is a short Independent fan film Inspired by the Half-Life Video Game series. This is an action packed short film centering around Adrian Shephard and a band of resistance fighters struggling to get out a warning about the impending invasion.

This film is not HL,HL2 or Opposing Forces. It's a short fan film that takes place in the Half-Life world. Also, as a completely independent film, we wanted to have a creative voice in the movie and make it a movie that we would enjoy shooting. We took artistic freedoms and liberties, unfortunately most of those decisions were determined by our limited resources.

I liked what they were trying to do, and some of the special effects looked good.
It feels like they were a little too self-conscious about looking cool. Especially with all those Matrix-inspired scenes.
Toward the end, that hand-to-hand combat, with the hero spinning upside-down was probably unintentionally funny, looking more like Buster Keaton. Actually, in that scene the bad guy had an advantage, didn't make sense why he would quit using his gun and decide to go kung-fu.
I still don't get why the hero would remove his "bad" guy costume mask. It obviously worked in fooling the bad-guys.
Great clip, low budget yet perfect acting. No iggnorance. high quality. Can only imagine it being a complete movie with a high budget, as transformers or some other hit movie, making this movie a success. This could be bigger then resident evil.

04/08/2012 pretty good for the super low budget and time limit. hope someone can help them with a full length feature, but if it's gonna turn into syfy channel fodder then you can count me out. it needs a way to have some more gore without the baby channel restrictions. if there's gonna be zombies there's gotta be more gore. eatinMraw
